The latest IDC MarketScape report, published by the global market intelligence firm IDC, has recognized LS Retail as a Major Player among worldwide Point of Sale (POS) vendors for hotels in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Hotel Point-of-Sale Software 2024 Vendor Assessment.

This assessment evaluates industry-leading POS software vendors based on their ability to bridge the digital and physical hotel experience while meeting the high expectations of modern guests. The report compares vendors on their omnichannel capabilities across front desk, retail, and F&B operations, alongside their strengths in reporting, customer engagement, flexibility, and scalability. 

Vendor inclusion criteria 

To be included in the study, POS vendors must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an established reputation offering POS software solutions in hotel environments
  • Have an annual revenue exceeding $25 million  
  • Offer global POS software with advanced omnichannel functionality, including out-of-the-box features, PMS support, in-room ordering, and KDS  
  • Must be able to deploy and support POS software globally
  • Have a proven track record in the hospitality industry 

The assessment looks at eight global POS vendors, including notable names such as Oracle, Lightspeed, and GK Software.
