The new sales price experience for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a robust feature that offers many more benefits compared to the current price experience. Not only will you be able to make changes and updates to pricing quickly and efficiently, but you will also get a more complete look at your active pricing.

Organized and easily accessible

One of the features of the new experience is the creation of a table that provides access to all price lists by type. There are two types of price lists – sales price lists and purchase price lists. When you access the sales price list, for example, you will see every price list for every customer or sales situation you have created. From there, you can access, activate, deactivate, and manage your prices by the groupings you have chosen.

And, best of all, you can set up prices and discounts in one location for your Business Central documents. LS Retail offers, discounts, and promotions will still be handled as before. These price lists allow users to add products and update pricing from season to season, from a central place, providing all   the tools to help them make adjustments without time consuming data entry from item to item or group to group.

Visibility across groups

A challenge with the current price management structure is having visibility into pricing across items, customer or vendor groups, and discount groups. But this can be resolved with a terrific feature of the new experience called the Prices Overview. This table allows you to get a complete view of the pricing information for your customers or vendors, something that users have not been able to access prior without customization.

When you can open a single table and view your sales and purchase information across a range of items, you can make decisions about your products without accessing multiple different places in the system and exporting the data. Instead, sales managers can now quickly analyze pricing trends across product categories or customer groups to identify opportunities for adjusting prices or launching targeted promotions.

Manage and update easily

The Price Worksheet is also new and improved and replaces the Sales Price Worksheet. Many users felt that the current price worksheet was too unreliable and difficult to use. However, the new price worksheet makes it much easier to load lines for updating or managing price changes directly on the worksheet. However, one limitation of this price sheet is that it currently only updates the default price list. The option to use any of the price lists in the worksheet is currently not available but would be a tremendous improvement for the future.

Another price management option is the Prices Overview, which allows you to filter and update product within the lines and verify it. Viewing multiple price lists for the same items or across certain item categories in a single list is a huge benefit because you can make more informed decisions with all the relevant data present right in front of you, instead of in multiple different locations.
