LS Retail recognized by IDC as a major player for point-of-sale software vendors in retail fuel and convenience
LS Retail has been named a major player in the latest IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Point-of-Sale Software Platform Vendors in Retail Fuel and Convenience 2025 Vendor Assessment.
This report assesses vendors' capabilities in retail fuel and convenience, highlighting their strengths in omni-channel functionality, customer engagement, scalability, extensibility, and integration with AI and analytics tools. Vendor inclusion criteria
To be included in the study, POS vendors must meet the following criteria:
- Have a proven record of offering POS software solutions in the fuel and convenience store industries.
- Provide a global, enterprise-grade POS software solution with advanced omni-channel features and functionality.
- Offer POS software that can handle both fuel and convenience store transactions and includes specific functionality needed for these industries.
- Have customers in multiple countries and a significant presence in at least one major market for fuel and convenience store POS solutions.
A unified platform for fuel and convenience store retailers
The report highlights LS Retail software for its comprehensive POS and retail management capabilities and support for diverse payments. Specifically, the report refers to LS Central for forecourt, which lets fuel retailers manage their entire operation from a single platform without the need for complex integrations.
“The POS solution is fully featured, including loyalty, ecommerce, payments, and analytics,” writes Juros. “In addition, as LS Retail serves multiple different retail segments, including pharmacy, foodservice, and hospitality, it can support all the aspects of fuel and convenience operations natively, including selling prepared food, health and beauty products, and lottery tickets, as well as managing fuel.”
The report also mentions LS Pay, the EFT software solution by LS Retail that enables retailers to choose their preferred Payment Service Providers (PSP) while guaranteeing EMV and PCI compliance across channels.
