What is SOC 2 compliance?
SOC 2 compliance is a globally recognized framework for managing and protecting sensitive data, developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). It evaluates an organization’s systems and processes based on five Trust Service Criteria:
- Security - Protecting systems and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats.
- Availability - Ensuring systems and services are operational, accessible, and performing as promised.
- Processing integrity - Guaranteeing data is processed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Confidentiality - Safeguarding sensitive information from unauthorized access.
- Privacy - Ensuring personal information is handled in accordance with privacy laws and regulations.
Why is SOC 2 compliance important?
Achieving SOC 2 compliance highlights our proactive approach to cybersecurity by implementing strong controls to protect customer data and ensure operational reliability. Since SOC 2 is an ongoing commitment, an annual audit is required to assess, update, and maintain compliance, ensuring that we consistently uphold the highest standards of data protection year after year.
Looking ahead, LS Retail is already preparing for SOC 2 Type II compliance in the summer of 2025. This certification will further validate our continuous efforts to maintain excellence in our practices and systems.
